A book has been published that is dedicated to the work of Theodor Theodorovich Herzen, a renowned artist and illustrator of the Kyrgyz epic "Manas." Theodor Herzen was born in 1935 in the village of Orlovka, located in the Talas Valley in western Kyrgyzstan. From an early age, he was closely connected to the Kyrgyz people and developed a profound interest in the history and folklore of his native republic. In the Talas Valley—the legendary birthplace of Manas—history was literally beneath one’s feet; the world of Herzen’s childhood was filled with ancient ruins and artifacts.
